Santa David is back at Philbrook, as Philbrook's Festival of Trees kicks off tomorrow (Saturday, November 22, 2008) with a special museum members' event from 10 to 2:

Philbrook's annual holiday gift to members features holiday treats, photos with Santa and special performances. Please take the opportunity to see and buy one-of-a-kind holiday creations by area artists, gingerbread houses and holiday trees. The 2008 Festival of Trees will be a memorable treat for the entire family. Guests are welcome for $5.00 per person.

The festival is open to the general public, for standard museum admission, starting at 2. Santa will be available for photos at Philbrook on Sunday the 23rd, and Saturday and Sunday of the following two weekends (November 29 & 30, December 6 and 7).

Santa David Bates is a real bearded Santa and 2008 is his fourth Christmas season as a Santa.

David is a lifelong Oklahoman and has been a Tulsan since 1969. He is retired from Saint Francis Health System and continues his involvement with the hospital as a volunteer for the gift shop. He is married with two children and five grandchildren. He and his wife are active members of First Baptist Church in Tulsa.
